About Currency Converter

Convert currencies using official European Central Bank reference rates, with a year of history and a multi-currency view.

Where the rates come from

Rates come from the European Central Bank's daily reference set, fetched through the keyless Frankfurter API. The ECB publishes once per working day at around 16:00 CET, so a rate is a daily reference figure, not a live trading price — the number your bank or card gives you will differ, because it includes a spread.

The one tool here that uses the network

Every other tool on OneUtil is entirely offline. This one has to reach out for rates, and it sends only the currency pair you asked about — no account, no key, nothing about you. It is listed as an explicit exception on the privacy page for that reason.

Common questions

Are these live, real-time exchange rates?
No. They are the ECB's daily reference rates, published each working day around 16:00 CET. They are ideal for accounting, expenses and estimates, and not intended for trading.
Why does my bank give me a different amount?
Banks and card networks add a margin to the reference rate, typically a per cent or more, plus any fixed fee. The reference rate is the midpoint, not a retail price.
Does it work offline?
The interface loads offline, but new rates need a connection. Rates you have already fetched stay available.
Which currencies are covered?
The ECB reference set — roughly 30 major currencies including USD, GBP, JPY, CHF, AUD, CAD, INR and CNY.
