About Unit Converter
Convert length, mass, temperature, volume, area, speed, data and more across 14 categories — every unit updates at once, with the formula shown.
What it does
Type a value once and every unit in the category updates together, so you see the whole picture instead of converting one pair at a time. The conversion formula is shown alongside the result, which matters when you need to justify a number rather than just copy it.
Fourteen categories
Length, mass, temperature, volume, area, speed, time, digital storage, pressure, energy, power, angle, frequency and fuel economy — metric and imperial throughout, including the units that trip people up, like the difference between US and imperial gallons.
Common questions
- Why is temperature handled differently from other units?
- Most conversions are a single multiplication, but temperature scales have different zero points, so Celsius to Fahrenheit needs both a scale factor and an offset. The formula display shows this explicitly.
- Are US and imperial gallons treated as the same unit?
- No — they differ by about 20%, and conflating them is a classic source of error, so they are listed separately.
- Does it handle data storage in powers of two?
- Yes. Both decimal (kB = 1000 bytes) and binary (KiB = 1024 bytes) conventions are available, because the two disagree by a growing margin at larger sizes.
