What it does
Turn a URL, a block of text, or a Wi-Fi network's details into a QR code, adjust the error-correction level and size, and download it as a PNG for immediate use or an SVG that stays sharp at poster scale. It also works in reverse: drop in a photo or screenshot of a code and read out what it encodes.
Error correction, and why size matters
QR codes carry redundancy so they still scan when partly obscured — four levels, from roughly 7% recoverable up to about 30%. Higher correction means a denser code for the same data, so it needs to be printed larger. If a code will be on a sticker, a window, or anything that gets scuffed, the higher levels earn their space; for a clean screen, the lowest is fine.
Common questions
- PNG or SVG?
- SVG for anything printed or resized — it is vector, so it stays crisp at any scale. PNG for pasting into a document or slide.
- Can I put a logo in the middle?
- A small central logo usually still scans thanks to error correction, but test it at the size you will actually use before printing a thousand.
- Do these codes expire or need an account?
- No. The code encodes your data directly — there is no redirect service in the middle, nothing to track, and nothing that can stop working later.
- Can it read a code from a screenshot?
- Yes. Drop in an image and it decodes the contents.
